Prospector's Steakhouse & Saloon, Mt. Laurel

For anybody who lives in the Rte 38 corridor in Mt. Laurel, Prospector's Steakhouse & Saloon is a local legend of sorts, perhaps even an "oasis".

Though Mt. Laurel in general has gotten fairly built up over the years, there really is not much choice in the way of dining options that are not chain or fast food restaurants, and Prospector's is one of the few choices around. In addition, it's one of the few bars in the vicinity, so it's a natural draw for a steady crowd, where it gets busy during weekday lunch hours as well as on weekends.

The theme of Prospector's is Country Western, and as such they feature line dancing, appearances by WXTU (country music radio station), and the like, as well as a menu full of burgers, steaks and more. They also have an expansive and popular salad bar option.

Going beyond food and drink, Prospector's brings in country music acts, they offer outdoor seating, and they have banquet facilities for events. A one stop shop, if you will.

Prospector's is at the intersection of Route 38 and Ark Road in Mt. Laurel (3050 Route 38, to be exact). It's just a couple of miles east from 295 and is one of the first restaurants you'll find heading west from the Mt. Holly area. Note that coming from the west on Route 38 you'll need to take a jughandle to cross back over 38.

Visit the Prospector's website to learn more or dial them up on the horn at 856-235-1121.
