John J. Connolly Park, Voorhees

A hidden gem, perhaps. John J. Connolly Park on Centennial Blvd in Voorhees, between Cooper and Evesham Rds., is a fairly new addition to the South Jersey park scene, and it's a great spot for all to enjoy.

Located just on the other side of the water tower from the Main Street complex, only a block or so away, Connolly Park provides an open, safe, comfortable atmosphere for community gatherings. Voorhees's "Summer Twilight Series" features musical entertainment on the expansive lawn, where music lovers can bring a chair or blanket, sit down and enjoy the outdoor festivities.

In addition, the field is large enough to play soccer or football on, plus there is a paved walking track that goes around the entire border of the park, and a colorful playground invites kids to have fun and get some exercise. The park offers plenty of parking and is easy to get to from anywhere in the area. There is also room to improve upon this recreational site and eventually offer more amenities, but in the meantime, it's a good place to take the kids and enjoy the outdoors.
