Pasta Pomodoro, Voorhees

Eagle Plaza, the venerable ole' standby shopping center in the heart of Voorhees on Route 561 (Haddonfield-Berlin Road), holds a wide variety of shops, including anchors Acme and Office Depot, as well as smaller businesses like the Wine Warehouse & Discount Liquor Outlet and Pasta Pomodoro. It is the latter that gets the spotlight here.

Pasta Pomodoro sits in the middle of Eagle Plaza, right as you drive into the main entrance, and there is ample parking. It is a long-standing Italian restaurant and gets quite a weekend crowd as many diners venture there before enjoying a movie at the nearby Ritz 16 Movies (word to the wise, make reservations). Consequently, it also has a nice connection with the aforementioned Wine Warehouse since Pasta Pomodoro is a BYOB and many folks enjoy a bottle of wine with their meal.

Overall, the food is good and there are plenty of options to choose from including various pastas, pizza, chicken, meat, fish, and even gluten-free dishes. You won't leave hungry as portions are quite large. Complimentary breads are served, and the service is attentive.

Inside, the atmosphere is very casual. I found it to be rather noisy and a bit too close to surrounding tables, though neither issue was enough to ruin the meal. All in all it's a solid place to check out for a casual lunch or dinner.

To reserve your seats, call 856-782-7430. To check out their menu, click here to visit Pasta Pomodoro's website (not exactly the most enthralling website, but it's got the basics on there).

This restaurant does an AMAZING job catering to the gluten free/celiac community, which is a pretty fantastic feat considering that Italian restaurants are generally riddled with wheat and flour. The owner was so kind to my celiac family and we had one of the nicest meals ever this Valentine's Day since we had to go gluten free. The wonderful gluten free dessert tray (which rivaled the regular dessert tray) was such a source of excitement to my daughter who generally cannot ever order a dessert anywhere. I am so appreciative for this restaurant. Bottom line: TONS of gluten free choices and lovely, family friendly service.
